Maharashtra Arm Wrestling Association established in 1977 at Nagpur under the guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Hemant Kumar Dongaonkar & Hon’ble Shri Baba Bhoyar . And Maharashtra state team had been regularly participated in National. That time our state team was very strong.
There are many different moves in arm wrestling. The most common are:
The hook is the most common move in arm wrestling. You are probably familiar with the hook, because it is the move that is used when arm wrestling is portrayed in bars and elsewhere on TV.
The top roll is a great move to beat your less experienced friends with. If you win with a top roll, you are winning with leverage instead of brute strength. This is because the top roll is what is referred to as an “outside” move.
When you walk up to the table, always remember to stagger your feet, with one foot more forward than the other. The foot that should be more forward should ALWAYS be the one on the same side as the arm you are wrestling with.
Backpressure is simply pulling your opponent’s arm toward your body and, therefore, away from his body. By pulling your arm closer to your body, you are able to exert more side pressure on your opponent’s arm.
